Endeavor Workspaces continues a food-focused fall with its Collaborators & Cocktails speaker series on November 13th featuring entrepreneurs Chef Chris Rosensteel and his business partner Jeremy Krauze, the masterminds behind @societygvl and the recently reborn @citytaverngvl. The two will discuss their brands, their young (and young at heart) and eclectic demo, and their path to success. Limited tickets are now available, thanks to Endeavor’s co-hosts AFL and Greenville Federal Credit Union.
Rosensteel studied at the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas, before working for the Uptown Catering Company where he eventually took the reins in 2020. He is a winner of Greenville’s 2019 and 2021 Iron Caterer Throwdown, as well as the Governor’s award for Hospitality and Tourism, and has been nominated for Best Chef in the Upstate.
With a background in photography, marketing and audio engineering, Krauze had a keen mind for business, and had been learning the restaurant/bar business during stints at several upstate hot spots. After roughly a decade and a half of working in service, creative, and branding capacities, Krauze began pursuing the idea of owning a restaurant of his own.
When their paths crossed, the two became friends and realized that together, their shared aspirations and differing skillsets could form the foundation for an exciting and substantial business plan.
In 2020, Rosensteel and Krauze launched Society Sandwich Bar & Social Club, the two floor, full-service, chef-driven restaurant and bar on Coffee Street specializing in creative gourmet sandwiches, unique ramen bowls and refreshing cocktails. Earlier this year, they became co-owners of City Tavern, and transformed the location – handling the remodel, the menu, the brand and more.
The two candid and clever entrepreneurs will share their story, including how their partnership led to the success of their restaurants, and even share an assortment of bites from the Society and City Taverns menus. Building their brand, their unique understanding of the customers who make them so popular and handling the re-invention of City Tavern – nothing is off the table for a discussion with these two.
