Managing Partner, Endeavor and Erwin Creates
Shannon Wilbanks served as marketing agency Erwin Penland’s Senior Vice President of Business Development for 15 years prior to joining Erwin Creates and co-founding Endeavor. Shannon began her career as an intern for US Senator Ernest F. Hollings, was offered a permanent position and ended up working for the Senator for the next nine years. Most of that time was on Capitol Hill, reporting to the Senator and Chief of Staff.
Looking to return home to SC, she moved to Greenville to work with the President and Board of the Greenville Chamber – where she first met Joe Erwin. Years later, Joe recruited Shannon to serve as Erwin Penland’s first permanent Business Development employee, leading the new business “courtship” process and managing the internal teams whose work would grow the agency’s employee base from 65 to almost 400. In 2006, she was added to Erwin Penland’s core leadership team.
When Joe began formulating plans for his “post-agency life” in 2015, Shannon was his first phone call. Along with Sally Williamson and Doug Erwin (now with Greenville Triumph soccer), they developed and brought to life Greenville’s business-building community for professionals. Shannon facilitates and manages projects for Erwin Creates, works closely with Endeavor’s Corporate Members, and helps new and continuing coworking members make the most of Endeavor’s assets and resources.
