Running a restaurant is hard work, but running two late-night restaurants is a whole different world. Jeremy Krauze and Chef Chris Rosensteel of Greenville favorites, Society and City Tavern, know this better than anyone. At Endeavor’s final Collaborators & Cocktails speaker series of 2025, the two sat down with a room full of business leaders, entrepreneurs, foodies and fans, and shared their journey of building lasting brands in Greenville’s eclectic late-night scene.
Their success didn’t happen overnight, and it certainly wasn’t achieved alone. It took years of preparation, long and late hours and countless relationships built along the way. And now? Their restaurants stand as proof of what dedication, heart, (a lot of tastings) – and the right people – can create.
Every restaurant has a different energy, different vibes, and of course, different foods. All of it coalescing to create an atmosphere reflective of the owners’ vision for a customer’s experience. But for co-owners shepherding two related but distinct properties, allowing them each their unique place within a shared vision is key.
Jeremy and Chris shared that although the vision starts with them, it relies on every person at the restaurant to fulfill it. Cooks, servers, dishwashers, bartenders and managers — each person plays a vital role in making Society and City Tavern the successes that they are. Fun Fact: At Society, Jeremy and Chris have same team they opened with – more than four years ago.
Jeremy and Chris’s (ongoing) journey is a reminder that in the restaurant industry, and in any business, people are the heart of everything.
It’s a lesson every business owner should remember: your team is your greatest asset. Success comes from investing in them, trusting them and building a culture where everyone thrives together. That’s exactly what Jeremy and Chris did, and the results (and the Philly eggrolls) speak for themselves.
Their story isn’t just about two of Greenville’s favorite late-night restaurants. It’s about passion, leadership and the power of a strong team—no matter what time the clock reads!
